Happy Cook Lanka Food (Pvt) Ltd

Richwin Group sees the fisheries sector as a familiar field where competitive advantage is greater which was the very reason behind the acquisition of Happy Cook Lanka Food (Private) Limited the then-largest fish canning factory in Sri Lanka.

Determined to compete with the importation of canned fish, significant investments were made in upgrading the manufacturing capabilities, restructuring and process reengineering in the fish canning plant at the Magalle Fishery Harbour, Galle, Sri Lanka, thus improving its capacity 210 times than it was ever before. These moves led to the creation of more than 600 new direct employment opportunities and around 400 indirect job opportunities.

The main task assigned to the Richwin Group in-house Research & Development team was to work on locally harvested fish in order to support the rural fishing communities dispersed along the coastal stretch of the island nation of Sri Lanka. After years of research and for the first time in history, Richwin Group introduced the canning of local fish catch claiming a breakthrough in the industry and paving the way for the local economy to grow further

Ocean Food Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd

The most exciting venture to join hands with Richwin Group is the newly built state-of-the-art Canned Fish Manufacturing Plant in Madurankuliya, Sri Lanka, installed with the latest and the most up-to-date fish processing and canning lines. Ocean Food Manufacturing is engaged in running a fully-fledged fish canning factory with an increased capacity to cater 90% of the local demand for canned fish. The newly built facility is 10 times larger than the Happy Cook Lanka Food Factory, making Ocean Food Manufacturing Plant the largest Fish Canning Factory in Sri Lanka. Richwin Group owns the two largest canned fish manufacturing plants in Sri Lanka which are internationally accredited and adopt the Global food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS).

 The name Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka) had become synonymous with the world’s finest tea. In the world’s eye and tongue, Ceylon was tea and tea was Ceylon. Sri Lankan tea known for generations as “Ceylon Tea” is reputed for its taste and aroma world over.

Richwin Group is renowned for its clean, green image and the consistently high quality of its products. Hence Richwin Group decided to introduce two commercial fishing vessels setting the standard for freshly produced sea harvest for our customers.

Our modern fishing vessels operates year-round and includes state-of-the-art fish finders, sizable on board refrigerated storage capacity, blast freezers, chillers in order to maintain the quality of the harvest, producing premium quality frozen at sea product, ability to deliver quality chilled fish to our land-based processing plants. This means every product has a reassuringly traceable provenance back to the clean natural seas.

TRADING & DISTRIBUTION

Richwin Foods (Pvt) Ltd

Richwin Foods is engaged in importing, distribution and exporting of food products under the brand names “Ocean Star” “Rich Ocean” and “Richwin”. Canned fish, Seafood, canned baby corn, sweet corn and mushroom are also leading products of Richwin Foods and these products are exported.

Richwin Foods is also functioning for the purpose of providing auxiliary services to canned fish production process of Richwin Group and takes part in bidding processes to acquire large scale seafood orders.

 

Richwin International (Pvt) Ltd

Richwin International was formed with the open-ended objective of exploring business opportunities to further strengthen the commercial aspects of the Richwin Group. Since its incorporation the company has conducted extensive research and evaluation programmes to assess investments pertaining to many fields.

Richwin International is also engaged in providing agent assistance acting as a liaison office between export & import companies.
